Sets the rules for which AI uses are allowed, reviewed, and stopped.
This role makes AI review a business process. They define which uses need a review, what evidence is required, and who can stop a launch. They are not the team that builds the model. They are the team that decides the model is allowed to meet a customer or an employee.
Has worked in risk, compliance, security, or legal on technology that touched customers. Has blocked or reshaped a launch and kept the relationship with the product team. Can explain a control without turning it into a policy no one reads.
Ask about a use they refused, how a product team knew the rule in advance, and who had the authority to override them.
Report to the general counsel or the chief risk officer. Write the AI use policy the company will actually follow. Run the review for high-impact uses. Tell the board which risks are accepted and which are not.
