Decides which AI behavior belongs in the product, and what the user is promised.
Head of AI Product owns the user-facing decisions: which tasks the product takes on, how failure is shown, and what "good" means for a person using it. They do not run the training cluster. They do decide what is worth shipping.
Has been a product leader on a surface where the output was uncertain, not only a deterministic feature. Has said no to a model the research team liked. Can write the promise to the user in one paragraph.
Ask about a launch they held, how they evaluated quality with users, and where product and research disagreed.
Report to the chief product officer. Own the AI product surface. Set the quality bar with engineering. Decide what ships, what stays a pilot, and how the product explains itself when it is wrong.
